Lovely stay in the middle of the nature!

Pros: The location is great, amidst lots of nature and walking paths. Many restaurants are also close by and it’s easy to get around by foot. We appreciate that you don’t need to pay an extra fee to use the tennis court, the varied breakfast and the helpfulness of the staff.

Cons: The room didn’t seem to have temperature control in it, so it was very cold at night and we had to ask for an extra blanket. It would be useful to have extra blankets in the room already. The bathroom also didn’t have the best ventilation system so some humidity problems are visible. Also, the pool temperature was said to be around 26-28 degrees Celsius but it was quite cold when we made use of it, so it would be great to increase the temperature.

Pros: The hotel is lovely and the people working aswell, fantastic for a nice getaway

Cons: I have specified that it was a “romantic thing” and the bed was sadly two single beds, the door from the terrace was hard to open, and there was still some old water in the kettle from the bedroom

Nice villa in the woods to get away for the weekend and enjoy the atmosphere

Pros: Nice location in the woods area, pleasant “old” style of the hotel, delicious breakfast , friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed much NY’s dinner at the restaurant, thank you for the great service.

Cons: The room could be more cleaned from the dust under the beds and in the radiator, when turning on the heating you feel the dust smell right away.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Wonderful Stay at Villa Vennendal!

Pros: The hotel has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere surrounded by beautiful woodland. It really feels like a peaceful retreat.. Our room was clean, cosy and full of character with a lovely view of the gardens. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of fresh options and a lovely setting overlooking the gardens. Even though we only stayed one night, it was a memorable experience, the kind of place that makes you want to come back for a longer stay next time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly hotel with real Dutch charm.

Cons: There was a road closure which meant heading out was quite a diversion. I don't see this being a permanent measure. Other than this we couldn't fault our stay at all.

Cons: Breakfast was pretty simple: everything you would expect from a hotel breakfast, but nothing more or out of the ordinary. The rooms are not soundproof enough: you can hear your neighbours flushing or walking around in the room above you! The restaurant is quite expensive for the quantity of food you get: the plates are too big for the amount of food they contain, so it looks like very little. There are too few vegetables with the main course (€25 dish).

Pros: Villa Vennendal is a serene and lovely retreat—with charming grounds and peaceful surroundings. I especially appreciated the opportunity to enjoy breakfast near the garden, a moment of quiet nature among birds and soft sunlight. Overall, it’s a beautiful place worth visiting, especially if you're seeking calm.

Cons: However, I do feel that some staff communication could be more thoughtfully attuned, especially considering that many guests are older. It would be helpful if (younger) staff were gently trained to listen to the specific needs of each guest, not with the assumption that age implies incapacity, or that simplicity is always the best medicine, even when what’s really needed is specificity.

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Vennendal! The grounds are stunning, the facilities top-notch, and our renovated lodge was warm and inviting. Waking up surrounded by nature was the highlight of my stay. I can’t wait to bring my family back!

Pros: Breakfast is delicious. We made used of the swimming pool and sauna after our 25km hike. Friendly and helpful staff. Stunning location and nature is on your doorstep. Beautiful room.

Cons: Our mattresses were a bit too soft, but everything else were fine.
