Amazing place not to be missed!

Pros: Amazing historical building in the heart of the old city with an elegant restaurant.

Cons: Despite Booking.com says the hotel has a gym, the hotel indeed has an agreement with an external building. Inaccurate information.

Lovely but noisy

Pros: It' all very, very beautiful, the whole hotel has been furnished and decorated with impecable taste, really a pleasure to the eye.

Cons: The experienced traveller cares for the details... (there lurks the devil). The experienced traveller knows that ear plugs do not belong in the usual set of toiletries at fancy hotels such as this one, so this is no good sign...and yes, unfortunately... the hotel happens to be located right across the cathedral, whose bells toll every single hour, also at night. Nothing the hotel can do about it (except for the rather amateuristic ear plugs), but a warning on the website for those of us who do expect to sleep would feel as the proper thing to do.

Lovely hotel and location

Pros: Lovely room, great staff and food, perfect location (unless you don't like church bells!)

Pros: Very nice location, great bath and shower, very comfortable bed.

A really friendly, superb hotel in a perfect location.

Pros: The hotel was beautifully furnished and the staff were all very welcoming and professional. The menu in the restaurant was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner. The location was perfect and we were impressed with our first visit to Deventer.

Cons: The car parking was very difficult in spite of instructions from the hotel. Also the bedroom allocated to our brother and his wife ( room11) was not suitable for a couple who are both aged over 80. Perhaps we should have mentioned this at the time but as it was a one night booking they did not do this.

A outstanding place in a way that others don't even try.to achieve

Pros: The Huis Vermeer is one of those hotels I am sad to leave and cannot wait to return to. It's comfortable, beautiful and unmatched in every way and the staff are, without fail, delightful and eager to assist.

Cons: Again, or still, the lack of a desk, or something, to put a laptop on and get some work done in comfort.

True gem

Pros: It’s a truly beautiful hotel on a great location. Breakfast was delicious but what most stand out was the exceptional service!

Fabulous stay in the pittoresk city of Deventer

Pros: The hotel is set in an old building that still boasts most of the interior, but made comfortable and very atmospheric. It’s in a great location, opposite the large church, and all the little streets are in walking distance. Parking was not too difficult in the area. Staffs were very helpful and friendly. Beds were very comfortable (only one pillow though) and so was the bathroom with bath and shower. There’s a restaurant that gets good reviews and a breakfast service - we didn’t use either of them so can’t review those.

An absolute gem in a lovely town.

Pros: It's a beautiful old townhouse on a lovely square dominated by the church, small, freindly bars, restaurants and a gelato cafe. The town is equally delightful and a short walk. The hotel and staff were lovely. The served breakfast was fresh, with lovely ingredients. Pity it was only a stopover stay, would love to try the restaurant. Very convenient if visiting Thermen Bussloo and don't want to stay at the Thermen.
